Healthcare-ID President, Rick Stone, along with a representative of Talisman Limited will present a class entitled, "Online Donor Health History - It's here, in use, and 510(k) cleared". Both companies offer software that allows donors to complete their Health History Questionnaire, on the day of donation, from their home or office. Attendees will see these products from the viewpoint of the donor, the collection staff, the recruitment and the sponsoring blood drive organization. The course will review the history of this approach, regulatory issues and the technology involved. Additionally the course will address the experience of blood centers that are using online health history interviews. Finally, discussion will be included about the advantages and benefits of this technology as seen by all the stakeholders in the donation process - donors, blood center and drive sponsors.
