Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center implements electronic Donor Adverse Reaction

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center becomes one of the first customers to use Donor-ID’s Donor Adverse Reaction module

Buffalo Grove, IL, December 4, 2014 – Healthcare-ID, Inc. and Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center announce that Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center has implemented the Donor Adverse Reaction module making it among the first Healthcare-ID customers to implement this process. The Donor Adverse Reaction module allows electronic capturing of a donor’s reaction and subsequent actions, i.e. treatment, observers, follow-up, etc.  The system also allows for the reaction data to be extracted and uploaded to the AABB Biovigilance website for data trending.

“We are very excited to have Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center roll out this functionality as we think it is beneficial module for centers to utilize, in addition to it being beneficial for the AABB Biovigilance group. It’s always rewarding to see new functionality being rolled out at a customer location,” states Bryan Sadorf, Executive Vice President and COO of Healthcare-ID.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center went live on Donor-ID in 2000.  Bart Block, Director of Management Information Systems for Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, states, “We are always looking for smart ways to automate manual processes and are excited to be among the first to implement the Donor Adverse Reaction module. We look forward to contributing to industry benchmarking and to improving our own donor reaction reporting.
